Here are a couple shots Reuben Breslar took of my piece in the RISD MFA show. With the help of the ingenious Mike Louro and Reuben, we built this large wall to house all the works. This served to equalize and flatten all the mediums into one giant container and narrative. It essentially became one anthropology exhibit rather than disparate art objects. Memories of the Chicago Field Museum and Art Institute’s exhibition strategies in displaying their Egyptian, Gem, and miniature room collections were fodder for the design and lighting decisions. Also, you could catch someone checking out the penis through the window on the other side. That was a plus of this design.
